Chapter Three

Taking advantage of the chaos of opening presents and discovering the identities of Secret Santas, David gathered his gifts and left. He deliberately moved fast and hoped no one saw his escape. One look back revealed CJ watching him.

Reaching his office, David set both gifts on the desk. He opened the smaller box and found a bright pink dildo with a tag.

Here's a real man for you, fag. The only one you can get.

"Unbelievable."

David locked the repacked box and gift wrap in a bottom drawer. Then he flicked his thumb against the other box. Apprehension filled him.

Would George really help CJ pull his name? Why would he even consider doing that? What did it all mean? What did CJ really want by picking his name and handing him a gift?

While his mind spun, David grumbled at himself. The conversation with CJ played multiple times while he tried to pick it apart. There must be some hidden meaning behind everything. It couldn't be simple.

Giving up trying to pull everything apart to figure out all the nuances, he returned his attention to the gift.

It's a Christmas present. Take it as it is and nothing more.

He carefully unwrapped the gift. He didn't rip into the paper but worked free the pieces of tape and unfolded the paper to reveal the white box. He opened the top to find deep-red tissue paper. A cream-colored card rested on top with some handwriting.
